To Whom it May Concern:

Peter E. Stein was employed in the Cabarrus County Tax Administration/ Land Records office as a GIS Mapper from September 19, 2008 through February 22, 2010.  Due to a reduction in force by Cabarrus County, the position held by Mr. Stein was eliminated.

His primary responsibility included updating and maintaining the cadastral parcel/property layer within ESRI ARC Map 9.3.  The mapping of property parcels was achieved by interpreting deed descriptions and land surveys and transferring that data into the GIS system. Each parcel also required an updated attribute table.  Additional duties also included creating custom maps to include cadastral data, orthophotos, floodplains, and surface elevation contours.

His work was highly detailed and he consistently completed the GIS mapping and required documentation with a high level of accuracy. His GIS abilities greatly benefited Land Records and he was an asset and essential contributor to Cabarrus County Tax Administration.

His personal desire to succeed in the GIS profession provides the confidence he needs to excel at the many diverse mapping task assigned to him. He has a positive work ethic that aids his willingness to learn and share knowledge with those around him.

If the opportunity would present itself to rehire Mr. Stein, I would not hesitate to consider him for a GIS position.

Contact me if you require further information.

Sincerely,

Greg D. Belk

Cabarrus County Land Records Manager

To Whom It May Concern:

Peter E. Stein was employed in the Cabarrus County Tax Administration/ Land Records office as a GIS Mapper from September 19, 2008 through February 22, 2010. Unfortunately, due to a reduction in the work force by Cabarrus County, the position held by Mr. Stein was eliminated.

The primary responsibilities were maintaining the cadastral parcel/property layer within ESRI ARC Map 9.3 which is achieved by interpreting deed descriptions and land surveys and transferring that data into the GIS system. This is done in order to allow the Appraisal Department to appraise each parcel within Cabarrus County with fair and equitable assessment.

Peter went beyond his primary responsibilities when on several occasions was assigned special projects from the Appraisal Department. One project consisted overlaying the Old FEMA Flood Plain Maps under the Updated 2009 FEMA Flood Plain while delineating the amount of acreage that changed between he two years. He then uploaded this project on the ARC Map on each appraisers PC which allowed the appraiser to make the correct adjustments for all effected areas.

He is a very professional person with great work ethics.

If the opportunity would present itself to rehire Mr. Stein, I would not hesitate.

Contact me if you require further information.

Sincerely,

Chris B. Ferriss

Cabarrus County Real Property/Revaluation Manager

To Whom it May Concern,

Peter E. Stein was a student in my course during the fall 2010 semester at Central Piedmont Community College

(CPCC).   The English 111 course was required for any curriculum student. The requirements for this course

consisted primarily in writing six (6) essays of varying topics and styles.  Mr. Stein’s essays were consistently

readable and interesting.  His manner of expression was concise, crisp, and relevant.  Not only did he listen to the

instruction, but he actually heard what was said as well.  He had perfect attendance, and he participated in class.

He was polite, and he followed my direction.  All of his assignments were turned in on time.  In fact, I really didn’t

have to worry about him very much because his work showed me from the beginning of the course that he

understood the requirements, and his integrity ensured me that he would fulfill them.

He was, plainly, an excellent student, one many instructors wish they had more of.  His grade of A was the highest

in the class for this semester.

I am confident that Mr. Stein will do well in whatever he chooses to do.

Please contact me if you need more information.

Sincerely,

Pamela Overby, Adjunct Instructor English, Reading, and Humanities Central Piedmont Community College
